About Chunkbase

Financial advice keeps moving. Its software should keep up.

Chunkbase is a small company building the working system for financial advice. This page is about who is building it, how the work is being learned, and what we can be held to.

A company for the work between meetings · Evidence · Work · Decision · History

I started by asking people what they actually do all day.

Every conversation I had with an advice firm ended in the same place. The hard part was never the meeting or the writing. It was the layer in between: reconciling what a client said against what the firm already held, finding the document that settles it, and knowing what is still outstanding and who owns it.

That work is invisible. It does not appear on a diary, it is not what anyone was hired to do, and no system in the firm holds it. It is also where the risk sits, because a recommendation is only as defensible as the record underneath it.

Chunkbase exists to make that layer explicit rather than remembered.

One workflow at a time

The principles stay fixed as the system grows.

Evidence, uncertainty, judgement, firm practice and time, with claims we can show our working for.

  1. Evidence keeps its address

Every material claim should lead back to the conversation, document or rule that supports it.

  2. Uncertainty stays visible

Missing, conflicting and potentially outdated information should remain clear until someone resolves it.

  3. Human judgement remains explicit

Chunkbase can prepare, explain and organise. The adviser and the firm decide what the evidence means and what happens next.

  4. The firm shapes the workflow

Roles, permissions, policies, templates and review steps should reflect how the firm actually works.

  5. Time is part of the record

The system should preserve what was known, what changed and which decision followed.

  6. Claims are testable or they are not made

Anything we assert about what the product does is something a firm should be able to check, which is why a method and its limits are published alongside any finding.

Chunkbase is software. It is not a financial adviser, it does not give regulated advice and it does not make suitability decisions.

The short version.

Frequently asked questions · 06 questions

01What is Chunkbase?

Chunkbase is an early-stage wealth technology company building a working system for financial advice. It starts with meeting notes, sourced client facts and adviser review, with a broader mission to connect the evidence and unfinished work around each client case.

02Who is Chunkbase for?

Chunkbase is being built with advice firms, including advisers, paraplanners, administrators, compliance teams and firm leaders.

03What can a firm test today?

A firm can test the meeting-to-review workflow using fictional, dummy or appropriately approved material: bring a meeting transcript or notes, inspect sourced proposed facts, review missing or conflicting information and prepare the next handoff.

04Does Chunkbase replace the adviser?

No. Chunkbase organises evidence and work. The adviser and the firm remain responsible for interpretation, suitability and the decisions that follow.

05How do you decide what to claim about the product?

If a claim cannot be checked, we do not make it. Anything we assert from our own research is published with the method, sample and limits behind it, and what works today is kept separate from what is being built.

06How can a firm work with Chunkbase?

As a founding firm. Chunkbase is in alpha, and founding firms use it and shape it with us. We ask for one adviser and one paraplanner or administrator who will use it, a short session with Rohan every week or two, and honest feedback. It costs £199 per licensed adviser a month, paraplanners and administrators are free, and the first month is refundable.
